UNCOVERING UNCONSCIOUS BIAS
The world has been discussing discrimination for centuries, and it has not gone away – at home, in the workplace…by gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disabilities. We help you to understand how our biases play into these situations.
• What is Unconscious Bias? – We will explore our biases as well as others.
• Different Areas of Bias – We will discuss common biases in gender, ethnicity, and race. We can touch on other biases, time permitting.
• Questions to Assess Your Organization – How do you determine where your organization stands regarding bias? We will give you starter questions to uncover biases.
This is a beginner discussion to help the participants understand and recognize bias in themselves and each other. We utilize examples and case studies from Dr. Jennifer L. Eberhardt’s book, Biased: Uncovering the Hidden Prejudice That Shapes What We See, Think, and Do to draw a clear picture.
"It was a pleasure to serve on Consultants 2 Go's advisory board. The value of an advisory board was clearly demonstrated in the sales process when, 1) a board member can pick up the phone to help the business owner with closing a deal, and 2) the board member's expertise contributed directly to a sales presentation or pitch, resulting in a win. Sandi and C2G knew how to win."
Doug Wilder, Consultants 2 Go ex-CFO & ex-Board Member
"Sandi gave a wonderful presentation at NJAWBO-Morris University in Basking Ridge, NJ on May 7, 2012. The workshop presentation, "The Benefits of an Advisory Board," was timely and on target to help entrepreneurs. The information she shared enlightened us on the advantages of having an advisory board for our businesses.
We had no doubts that she would be highly knowledgeable on the subject, but we were not prepared for her entertaining and enthusiastic way of presenting. Sandi had the audience sitting at the edge of their seats, wanting to capture every word. Sandi opened our eyes to a topic that was fresh, interesting, and exciting for all.
It was such a great pleasure working with Sandi. Based on the comments of the attendees, we will certainly be contacting her about next year's conference."
